School bus driver from Jackson arrested on child pornography charge
A Jackson man who is a school bus driver was arrested Thursday on a child pornography distribution charge after federal authorities searched his home and seized a computer that was used to share images, the federal authorities said.
The school bus driver, Frank J. Bognar, 30, made his initial appearance on the charge Thursday in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Lois H. Goodman in Trenton.
He was released on a $100,000 unsecured bond on conditions of home confinement with electronic monitoring, not owning or using computers, and no contact with minors, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman said in a prepared news release.
Bognar is not listed as an employee in the Jackson school district and the U.S. Attorney’s office did not have Bognar’s employment information available.
The office also did not have Bognar’s street address available.
Bognar was the subject of a 2011 undercover operation in which an FBI special agent accessed a publicly available peer-to-peer file sharing network online and discussed sharing child pornography with a user whose username and IP address were eventually traced back to Bognar’s Jackson bedroom, according to a four-page federal criminal complaint. During an Oct. 27 chat session, Bognar provided the agent access to shared images and video files of child pornography from his computer, the complaint states.
If convicted, Bognar faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison and a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
When Bognar was arrested, Jackson police officers seized several weapons from his home, including a banned assault weapon, Fishman said.
The authorities declined to release Bognar’s photo.
Found it.
Good to know this is living 3 houses down from me, in the middle of a neighborhood full of children. Disgusting.
